Paris Saint-Germain is of the belief that Kylian Mbappe has already reached an agreement to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer.
Mbappe received a letter from PSG on Monday, which made it clear that he would be sold this summer unless he agrees to extend his contract by the end of this month.
Should Mbappe choose not to extend, PSG will look to sell him as quickly as possible to the highest bidder, without any emotional considerations and purely as a transaction.
Previously, it was thought that PSG would prefer not to do business with Real Madrid. However, if Mbappe does not extend his contract, the club is willing to sell him to any suitor capable of meeting their asking price, which is expected to be around £150m.
In the letter sent on Monday, PSG expressed the immense harm caused by Mbappe’s decision not to extend his contract. They urged him to reconsider and extend his contract to support the club that has been instrumental in his and his family’s journey.
Following the appointment of Luis Enrique as the club’s new manager, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi emphasized their stance, stating, “My position is very clear. I don’t want to repeat it every time: if Kylian wants to stay, we want him to stay. But he needs to sign a new contract.”
Al-Khelaifi further emphasized their unwillingness to lose the best player in the world for free, underscoring the importance of securing Mbappe’s future with a new contract.
